Create a time-worn aesthetic for your property with our hard wearing calibrated riven limestone paving. Combining a warm mix of blue and grey, it’s the perfect solution for pathways and patios.
If you are tired of mowing the lawn and maintaining the look of grass, consider natural stone paving as a low maintenance alternative. Practical for family life and perfect for creating a long lasting space, our Indian sandstone is a no-brainer when it comes to garden landscaping.
Calibrated paving means that the slabs have been cut down to a consistent thickness, therefore they are quicker and easier to lay as you do not need to keep adjusting your mortar bed to achieve a level patio surface.
Natural limestone paving is also colourfast, unlike concrete paving, where the paving typically fades in direct sunlight.
However limestone is porous, which means that it is not impervious to spills and weathering. Your stone can be protected using Ceetect Aqua, our water-based sealant that will also minimise the impact on the colour and natural appearance of your limestone paving.

In July 2013 it became a legally mandated obligation for natural stone products used in construction to be covered by the harmonised European standard, which means all the products offered by Stone & Surfaces Direct are CE marked. This means all our natural stone paving flags comply with BSEN1341:2012, and for modular natural stone tiles for interiors to BS EN 12057:2015.

Kota
The Kota district has many hundreds of quarries that extract a wide range of sandstone colours, and a few small examples of limestone. The majority of the brown, grey and green coloured materials supplied to the UK market emanate from this area in India.
Location
Kota is located along the banks of the Chambal River in the southern part of Rajasthan. It is the 3rd largest city of Rajasthan after Jaipur and Jodhpur. The city is known for its blue grey and brown coloured limestone, but the surrounding areas have a vast array of sandstone quarries.
